Ellenore griffith
I am a doctor who sculpts and has attended the National Art School.
I use recycled scrap steel, rarely knowing what the outcome will be. It's the steel - the size, shape, patina, and weight that directs the inclination to work with those pieces to create a sculpture where the whole is perceived as greater than the sum of its parts.
Only when the construction is completed does the sculpture itself suggest a name.
